Nikon D60 User Reviews
- "I have a problem with SD cards greater than 2 gb only
showing up as 1.99 gb of free space when the camera is connected to
the computer via USB. I have a Sandisk Ultra II 4gb SD HC card, it showes me 520 photos on Large/Fine Jpeg available on the empty card, but I can take 1040 photos. Only when the free space is less than 2 gb is the amount of remaining space shown accurate.
I was asked to send the camera in to get the firmware reflashed, but I
did not want to wait the 3-4 weeks turnaround and tried the D60s in
other stores and they have the same problem.
When talking to Nikon Australia and bringing the problem to their
attention, I was notified a couple of days later, that Nikon Japan are
aware of the problem. Nikon never put any information in regards to the above problem on
their web site and have not got a firmware fix for it even though it
has been at least two month since I contacted them first. I bought
another SD card , because my 4 gb card was not listed on their web
site and I thought it is not compatible, so I bought the Sandisk -
Ultra II.
I could have saved the money, if they would have informed us about
the problem, as they are aware of it.
Otherwise I love the camera just hate the poor Service of Nikon." - Achim
- "I have recently bought the Nikon D60 and it has worked perfect for me since I have had it. I read the review about having problems with the Nikon D60 not being accurate with he SD cards with more then 2 Gb, I have a 8Gb SD Hc pq1 memory card and when I see what the free space the SD card has it shows up as 7.96 Gb left. It is not 100% accurate but it still hold the same amount of pictures as it should. If you have problems with other types of memory cards I suggest buying the (8Gb Sd Hc pq1) memory card." - Shelby Biggs
