NIkon D50 User Reviews
- Nikon makes a play for the low end of the digital SLR market with the D50. Essentially a D70 with slightly fewer features, a smaller body, and lower price tag, the D50 is an excellent choice for amateurs or anyone else looking to upgrade from a point-and-shoot camera to their first DSLR without spending a lot of money. The biggest difference between the D50 and the rest of Nikon's DSLR offerings is that this camera uses SD (Secure Digital) memory cards instead of CF (Compact Flash) memory cards. The SD cards are more commonly used with point-and-shoot digital cameras so folks upgrading from those cameras need not buy new memory. Despite its low price, the D50 packs a great value and mated with either the 18-55mm DX lens or the 55-200 DX lenses released specifically for users of this camera, folks looking for a small, light, easy-to-use but still capable DSLR may not have to look any further. - Staff
