Over the past few years, the World Wide Web has become a presentation medium in which developers have had increasing control over the WWW user experience. The latest trend is the shift toward providing content and services for a new range of handheld devices rather than powerful desktop computers. Today's developers can now build sites that mobile phones can access by using the Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) and its markup language, WML (Wireless Markup Language), a language similar to HTML. Thanks to software emulators, WAP development in GoLive can be accomplished without even utilizing a real hardware device.
WAP is an exciting and still evolving standard, in this project you author a site compliant with the WML 1.3 specification for viewing on a WAP-enabled cell phone or other mobile device.
Topics covered: WAP/WML authoring, installing and using the Nokia Simulator application, previewing content with the Nokia Simulator application, WAP navigation, using decks and cards, data input options, server mime-type configuration.
